Mezcal Mi Gusto Es Puro Capón 750ml

Mezcal Mi Gusto Es Espadín Capón is a richer, more concentrated expression from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, produced by Martín García Sernas and family. Made from Espadín capón (Agave angustifolia) grown in agroforestry systems, this artisanal mezcal reflects the house philosophy of honoring family, heritage, and the land through careful, small-scale production.

The process remains deeply traditional: agave is roasted in a conical earth oven lined with volcanic stone, crushed with a Molino Chileno / tahona, fermented in pine and oak vats with wild yeasts and no chemical accelerants, and double distilled in copper. Horizonte Sustentable lists this release at 48.00% ABV and notes a production of 750 bottles, underscoring its more limited and elevated character.

On the nose, it shows cooked agave, citrus aromas, and a light smoke. The palate is soft yet expressive, with subtle sweetness, bright citrus character, and a long, persistent finish that gives this mezcal extra depth without losing balance.

This is an elegant step up for drinkers seeking an Espadín with more intensity, structure, and a slightly more refined, contemplative profile.
